President: Chris Gonzalez, PMP, M.A. Chris Gonzalez’s professional career has been shaped by a variety of different backgrounds. A combination of military, education, physical fitness and business development have made Chris very successful, and diverse in the business world. Chris’ extensive training, education, and background have positively affected his career, as he helps his clients to evaluate their options and make the best decisions possible. Chris has formed A-G Associates, a service disabled veteran-owned small business offering professional services focused on public sector social issues. When Chris returned in 2003 after serving in the Marine Corps during Operation Iraqi Freedom, he had a newfound sense of pride in his country and its economic opportunities. He also believed that having veterans contribute to the improvement and success of our Government would be critical. When he formed A-G Associates, his intention was to provide opportunities to veterans, and other professionals with specialized skills, within his company and empower their sense of pride in the US as well. Chris’ particular passion is improving programs that serve military members and their families. As a former marine, Chris obviously supports the military and its mission, but has also experienced the everyday stress that military service can put on family life. He understands the need for constant improvement to the programs that support military families in order to promote a healthy family life, and also to support the Military’s goals for recruitment, readiness, and retention. He also understands that accomplishing these goals cannot simply be achieved by addressing the needs of the military member. Providing accessible quality of life programs for military spouses, children, and parents is the key to allowing military personnel to focus more on mission accomplishment and less on distractions at home. In June, 2009 Chris obtained his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. In doing so, Chris demonstrated his knowledge and application of effective project management methodology. Today, Chris applies Earned Value Management, quality control, cost control, and risk mitigation processes to the projects he works on. Chris and his colleagues provide program management, analysis, and organizational consulting services for government agencies at the federal, state, county and local levels. Since starting the company, A-G Associates has worked on contracts with both Civilian and Defense agencies. In March, 2010, Chris realized that his skills learned in the Marine Corps could be combined with those from the private sector. Chris joined 4th Civil Affairs Group (CAG) in Washington, D.C.. His mission is to work with foreign governments to define their needs and goals for better serving their citizens. The countries that Mr. Gonzalez works with have been hurt by war, natural disaster, poverty, or a previously corrupt government. He advises these countries in the areas of: Strategic Planning, Public Relations, Project/Program Management, and Human Resource Planning. Below are accomplishments in Mr. Gonzalez’s career:
